Ahimsa Book Club reads and recommends literature to promote our understanding of the truth around how humans abuse and consume other living beings.
Ahiṃsā is a Sanskrit word that translates to non-violence/non-injury. It is a Hindu, Buddhist, and Jainist tradition of respect for all living beings; the avoidance of violence towards all animals, including humans. In Yoga, ahiṃsā is 1 of the 5 Yamas. In daily life, the most practical way of living with this benevolent standard is being a vegan. When one aligns their actions with the philosophy of veganism, they have chosen to live in the most compassionate and mindful way.
